Capacity-Building Training on Data Coordination for VAWG, SGBV, HP, and SRH&RR Indicators

The Capacity-Building Training brought together key stakeholders — including representatives from the African Union Commission (AUC), Regional Economic Communities (RECs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Women’s Rights Organizations, and national governments — for an intensive program focused on strengthening coordination in data collection, analysis, and utilization. The training addressed critical indicators related to Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), Harmful Practices (HP), and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRH&RR).

By enhancing participants' technical capacity and fostering collaboration between institutions, the program aimed to improve the quality, consistency, and use of data to inform national policies, regional strategies, and advocacy efforts. Accurate and coordinated data is crucial for driving effective interventions, measuring progress, promoting accountability, and advancing the rights and well-being of women and girls across Africa.
